Health & Safety

At this time, our health and safety protocols for this meeting will include:

  • Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 required (Proof of negative COVID test is not accepted as only fully-vaccinated individuals may enter HFES meeting space.)

  • Wearing of masks in HFES meeting space

  • Social distancing

HFES will follow all applicable health and safety regulations and guidances in order to organize this activity in the safest manner possible and will continually monitor developments and guidances from CDC and other agencies and authorities.  We thank our attendees, exhibitors, and others for their understanding and cooperation.

Please continue to check this web page for any updates to our plans as they relate to health and safety.

Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our attendees, exhibitors, speakers, and staff.  While we are eagerly anticipating the return of International Symposium on Human Factors and Ergonomics in Health Care, we will be implementing the following protocols to allow us to reconvene in a manner that minimizes risk and maximizes the in-person experience for all.  Please join us in being mindful and following these safety protocols so we can all have a successful symposium experience.

Entry Requirements

As part of our COVID-19 safety protocols:

All attendees, exhibitors, speakers and staff are required to affirm they are fully vaccinated.  In order to be considered “fully vaccinated” one must receive their final vaccine dose 14 days prior to March 20, 2022.

Additional Safety Protocols

  • Attendees, exhibitors, and others should stay home if they are sick or have been exposed to someone who is sick.

  • We strongly discourage attendance for those displaying any symptoms.

  • All staff are fully vaccinated and we will require this of any vendors we hire who will be in our meeting space (temps, outside security, etc.).

  • Social distancing

  • Additional hand sanitizing stations in the meeting space.

  • Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces within the meeting space.

  • If you become ill during the symposium, please remain in your room and contact us.  Specific instructions will be provided closer to the meeting.

HFES will follow all federal, state, and local requirements to do our part in mitigating the spread of COVID-19. We are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to update safety plans as needed.
